There is good news for students who attend school. The Punjab government has announced the observance of the birthday of the 10th Guru Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji on January 6 as a holiday for schools, colleges, and commercial establishments, including Monday in such closure.
Besides, schools, in many districts of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar have been closed for 5 to 7 days due to cold, fog, and cold wave. Some schools have even adjusted their daily timings to save children from the cold. While the state of Tamil Nadu has also declared a 6-day holiday.
Announcing holiday in schools of these districts of Bihar:
DM of Gaya district of Bihar directs closure of schools for Classes 1-5 in all early childhood centers, government and private schools until January 8. The same measure applies to all Anganwadi centers. While the schedule prescribed for the students above class 5 is for the coaching and the schools getting classes to conduct studies starting from 9.30 am and finishing by 4 pm. The measure is meant to enhance the perfect management and health of children studying in the educational institutions; control educational activities and ensure a secure environment was the administration’s aim.
All government and private schools until class 8 are closed in Patna till January 11 th. Classes above class 8 will be held after 9 a.m.
Bhojpur DM Tanay Sultania has put a stop on teaching activities until class 8 in all the private and government schools and anganwadi centers up to, and including, January 09. He has directed all officials to adhere to the order strictly.
From January 6 to January 8, the District Magistrate of Saran, Aman Sameer, has imposed a ban on teaching and learning in all government and non-government schools and Anganwadi centres, until class 8. From 10 am to 3.30 pm, classes 9 and above may be held, however.
Holidays in UP districts like these ones-
Schools for Gorakhpur from class 1 to 8 will only observe holiday on January 6. This applies to all Hindi and English schools recognized by CBSE, ICSE, and other boards.
From Class 1 to 8, schools in Lucknow will remain closed until January 11. For students of Class 9 to 12, online class will be available in school without holiday. If they don’t have online facility then operate school 10.00 am to 03.00 pm.
Farrukhabad and Lakhimpur Kheri DM had issued orders for closure of all the schools in the district until January 14. Thus, all the schools was to open from January 15.
Gwalior Schools shows holiday on January 6
The Gwalior district administration has declared a holiday for nursery to VIII class children for January 6 owing to the severe cold and cold wave conditions. In addition, the timings of the schools have changed to 10 AM to 3 PM from January 7 till January 31.
This order will apply for both government and non-government schools, as well as ICSE and CBSE schools. Examinations will be held according to the pre-scheduled date. Before this, all schools are closed till January 5 when winter vacation is over. This step has been taken for the safety and health of all the children.
5 days holiday in Tamil Nadu
The Tamil Nadu government has announced 5 days holiday for the state as Pongal comes nearer. Hence, they will close the educational institutions in the state, including all schools, colleges from January 14 to January 19 because of Pongal. After Pongal celebrated on the 14th, the next important day coming up is Thiruvalluvar Day, which falls on the 15th, then on January 16 is when people celebrate Uzhavar Thirunal, hence these holidays have been declared to cover all these above-mentioned occasions from January 14 through 19.
